I am a certified Occupational Therapist with over 10 years of experience. After completing a Master’s degree in OT, I worked for several years in both public and private systems. I always had a hard time reconciling a western paradigm and the anti-oppressive model I wanted to work from. I went back and completed a Masters of Indigenous Education which truly enabled me to understand how antiracism and decolonization works (or does not work) from a systems perspective.

I am now at Queens University working on my doctorate degree, working as an OT in my own clinic, and am a mother of three. I truly believe that there is a path forward that recognizes both how systemic oppression functions and is reproduced and how we can mitigate these harms together.
